A learning disability affects the way a person understands information and how they communicate. 1.5 million people in the UK have a learning disability which means they can have difficulty understanding new or complex information; learning new skills; coping independently. A learning disability happens when a person's brain development is affected, either before they are born, during their birth or in early childhood and the disability can either be mild, moderate or severe.

At Homecare Services we understand that it can sometimes be difficult to find the right level of service to fully support you whilst not undermining your ability to remain as independent as possible. A learning disability no longer prevents someone living life to the full. Our approach is person centered and based on independence, dignity, choice, privacy and respect. Meaning we support individuals to make their own choices and decisions; live as independently as they wish; maintain their dignity and respect, while ensuring their full privacy. Our diverse workforce have received training that will enable them to support your whatever your needs, wishes and aspirations.

We can support you with all aspects of daily living. This includes housing related support - helping you to budget, pay your bills maintain your tenancy etc. Our past surveys told us about some of the difficulties that individuals face when accessing social and leisure activities and so we can also support you to access these should you wish. *Please also see our 'EVENTS' tab for upcoming events.
